Our Departments

This Department is one of the Departments that look over on the General Administration of the Synod as a whole. It looks for the smooth functioning of the Office Synod, it deals with the matter outside the Synod also like the PCI, NEICC and others matter. It looks after all the properties of the Synod.
The Christian Education Department looks after Schools sponsored by the Synod it frames guideline, instructions and procedures to obtain better administrative management. At present the Synod has 1 (one) Hr. Secondary School, 3 (three) Secondary Schools, 8 (eight) Upper Primary Schools, and 3(three) Lower Primary Schools. The Synods is optimistically looking forward to start the Synod College and Umsaitsning, Umsning in the academic session 2017, in the Arts Stream.
The Pastoral Ministry is progressively growing in size and number every year. In the year 2019 the Synod confirmed 2 (two) Probationary Pastor and in 2020 ordained 3 (three) Pastors. In the year 2015 the Synod confirmed 3 (three0 Probationary Pastors and ordained 1 (one) Pastor. Besides posting of Pastor in the Pastorates, it also deputes some Pastors to special posts, such as Executive Secretaries, Mission Director and Chaplaincy. It is also interesting to note that within this Ministry there is Minister’s Fellowship Meeting annually held during the 2nd week of October where pertinent arising issues are discussed deliberated and shared for enrichment of the spiritual growth of the Pastors.
This Department mainly concentrates on Mission & Evangelization. At present there are 11 (eleven) Mission workers, where two of them are being sponsored by the PCI. They are all working indifferent Mission Fields within and outside the state of Meghalaya. They Synod has appointed a full –time Mission Director who supervises the Mission Workers of the Synod with full cooperator with Mission Workers. In order to speedup mission Department concerned to construct Quarters for all Mission Workers in every Mission Field and the first ever RBP Synod Mission House was inaugurated at Mawsyntai, Marngar in 2015. The Synod through Mission & Evangelism department has been working in partnership in Mission & Evangelism Department of the General Assembly PCI. The Synod expresses its gratefulness and gratitude to the General Assembly for supporting two Mission Workers at Amjong and Marngar Mission field respectively.
The Theological Education Department scrutinizes and recommends application of students for Theological studies. It receives regular progress reports from the Theological Students with regard to their performances in their studies. It also conducts probationary Pastor’s Refresher Course annually. Currently, there are 10 (ten) B.D Theological Students in different institutions within and outside the state. This Department is also conducting Lay –leadership Course for layman and women.
This Department looks after the publication of Sunday School text books, Synod Calendar. Kakhubor Synod (Magazine) and various certificates (such as baptismal and Marriage Certificates etc).the existing number of Synod’s Book Rooms are two-one located at Nongpoh while the other at Bhoirymbong. These Book Rooms are also deal with sales of some Religious Books, Hymn Books and Bibles etc. Initiative has been taken to open another Book Room at Umsning town for easy accessing of Church stationaries and publications by the Churches in the nearby areas.
This Association takes care all the moveable and immoveable properties of the Synod. It is the custodian of all land documents and properties of the Synod.
This Association is under the Executive Committee of the Synod. Its main function is to up-lift the social and economic life of the people. A part from conducting Training, Seminars and Workshops on different issue the Association has completed the construction of the vocational training Centre at Umta, Nongthymmai and Children’s Home at Mawsyntai which is to be inaugurated during 2016.
The Ministry of the Synod PWF emphasizes on the growth of Christian Families and collection of Handful of rice in order to improve the collection through this schemes (Handful of rice). The Women Ministry frequently conducts workshop and seminar to emphasize the importance of this form of offerings. The Women Fellowship is running and supporting one primary School at Amphreng, a village situated on the border of Meghalaya and Assam through its different sub-committees the fellowship conducts seminars, workshops medical camps at different levels. It owns tailoring and weaving project Centre at Nongpoh run by the Social Action Economic Life Department (SAELD). It also owns a Counseling Centre at Synod Complex, Nongpoh where Rev. N.W. Marsing has been appointed as Counselor. The Synod PWF also observes every year the second Sunday of August as women Sunday.
The RiBhoi Presbyterian Synod Youth Fellowship works for the purpose of molding the youth members in the process of becoming a good Christian morally and spiritually. The followings are some of the activities of the RiBhoi Presbyterian Synod Youth Fellowship.
- Annual Session: The Synod Presbyterian Youth Fellowship holds its Annual Session during the first week of March every year. As a token of appreciation and encouragement the fellowship use to confer every year a special award (a cash prize along with Certificate) to the student who secures highest percentage of marks in the Higher Secondary School Living Certificate (HSSLC) Examination.
- Evangelization works: The Youth Fellowship of the RiBhoi Presbyterian Synod organizes a Gospel campaign and Street Preaching every year. It runs an English Medium School at AmsingJorabat, Assam. The Fellowship undertakes Mission works at Lymphuid on Assam border by appointing one Mission worker to among the Tiwas.
- Computer Institute: The Youth Fellowship owns a Computer Institute at Synod Complex, Nongpoh, with one instructor. The Institute offers two courses: (i) “Certificate in Office Application” (COA) for 3 months (ii) “Diploma Software Technology” (DST) for 6 months.
